Our history

The Forellenbach property was purchased in 1955 by Ernst and Elisabeth Künzi, Rolf Künzi's parents.

First neglected and overgrown, it gradually became a real „paradise.”

It covers one hectare of land, of which 50 acres are now used for the dogs.

Ernst Künzi got into dogs: he got one that was kept as a family dog. One day, however, the dog needed a veterinarian.

In an exchange with the vet, the ball was set rolling. He asked Mr Künzi if he would be interested in looking after a dog for a short time.

One became two, then three - and soon more and more "dog lovers" experienced the relief of knowing that their dear four-legged friend was well looked after.

Thus, without having planned it, the Forellenbach dog holiday home came into being.

In the beginning, Ernst worked during the day while Elisabeth Künzi looked after the dogs, with help of the children.

Today, the management of the Forellenbach kennel is in Rolf Künzi's hands, the eldest son of the founding couple.

Together with his staff, he is committed to the daily well-being of the dogs entrusted to us.
